Oh, China...

Its things like ths that really make you miss 25 cent, half liter bottles of ice cold tsingtao beer. Things like this also make you think of random annecdotes, like this one:
So back in March for my friend's birthday we went to this brazillian barbeque place which conveniently happened to be all you can, all you can drink (for the equivalent of about $7.50) So naturally I'm what you might call, "drunk", or, "t-rashed", when we leave the restaurant and head for The Club.
Now at this point I had been taking chinese lessons for about a week (although I had been there for almost 7 months) so my chinese was pretty bu tai hao (not very good, as will be apparent in a moment).
There aren't really any laws against drinking in taxi's in China (or really very many laws in general) so when we arrive at The Club I ditch to my empty half liter bottle - inadvertently smashing the whole thing in the process.
Naturally this alarms a few passerbys and deciding it was time to put my chinese to good use I reassure them, apologizing for my disgraceful behavior - bukeqi, bukeqi.
Only later did I realize when I thought I was saying "I'm Sorry", they were hearing something totally different...
See, in Chinese, bukeqi doesn't mean "I'm sorry".
It means "You're Welcome".
whoops
